What to do when there is no fall color

Saturday, Linda and I drove to Stumpy Lake to see if there were any fall colors showing. Thus far, the only fall color we have seen are a few leaves at the top of a neighbor’s tree. Fall is always late coming to this area and generally it is disappointing. Next year; however, I plan to be in the right place at the right time!

There was not much color at Stumpy Lake this weekend and there were a few kayakers on the lake. I shot a few shots, but lighting, the lack of fall colors, and the kayakers did not make for great photos. As we were leaving, Linda spotted an egret near the bridge. We stopped and I walked back to photograph the bird that hunting amidst a group of bald cypress. I took several shots and these four sum up the hunt. The egret turned to make sure I knew he had a fish.
