Early October is typically the start of my search for fall colors, but this year…
Photographing the Irish Setter
Last Friday, Linda and I attended the Irish Setter Club of Greater Richmond’s Fall Specialty in Glen Allen. We were not showing, so we had the time to relax although I was the show’s photographer, but the work was at the end. I really love to photography Irishers in the ring. They are so graceful when the move, but even better are the great facial expressions. Some are so intent they just stare right through you. Others are having fun and seem to invite you to join them on a run around the ring.
Since we are moving next spring, this may have been the last dog show I photograph, at least the last one in Virginia. I will have to see what opportunities await me in the Midwest.
Below are five of my favorite photos from the show. They show the intensity of the dogs and their grace (at least some of the time!).
